Veragua Foundation
We are committed to improving life in the communities where we do business. Our Veragua Foundation for Rainforest Research leads rainforest conservation efforts with University of Costa Rica biologists residing in our mountain reserve, where we have discovered 11 new species to date and teach 30,000 annual visitors about the rainforest firsthand. Results are showcased to visitors and the public by way of personal explanations, research papers, television programs, and the Foundation website.
In addition, we support neighboring elementary schools in our rural area of Costa Rica by contributing to the upkeep of schools and providing local school children with backpacks, books, and materials each year. These programs are often coordinated with the hands-on participation of American high school or university students, who find this work very fulfilling.
