The Veragua Foundation for Rainforest Research was established in 2013 to support scientific research and community programs in Limón, Costa Rica. Full-time biologists live and work at the Veragua Rainforest in partnership with the University of Costa Rica. Most of the Foundation’s resources come from shareholders such as Blue Crest, with additional support from visitor contributions.

Research findings are shared through guided tours and scientific publications. To date, the Foundation has discovered three new species, including a frog and a beetle.

Beyond research, the Foundation protects the local watershed and supports nearby schools with school supplies and resources for rural children.

In the coming years, the Foundation will focus on protecting the rainforest, advancing scientific discovery, and strengthening surrounding communities.Click here to learn more: Home – Veragua Foundation
